This study is dedicated to the evolution of veterans' policy in Ukraine, focusing on its historical roots and the current challenges. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of existing policies and propose recommendations for their improvement, especially in light of the increasing number of veterans. Our findings indicate that Ukraine's veterans' policy, still influenced by its Soviet legacy, lacks a coherent and effective framework to address the real needs of veterans and their families. This paper not only provides a historical perspective, but also analyzes the legislative and institutional gaps in the current policy.
